CAIRO, April 18th. / Corr. TASS Dmitry Tarasov. The presentation of the industrial and technology exhibition "Big Industrial Week" (Big Industrial Week), organized by the Russian group of companies Formika in Cairo on October 8-10, was held on Wednesday in the Egyptian capital. The event, which took place at the headquarters of the Federation of Egyptian Industry, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, businessmen, experts and industrialists of Egypt, Russian diplomats and the organizers themselves, who described in detail the preparation and plans for the upcoming exhibition.

The Russian Federation and Egypt signed a memorandum of intent to organize a global industrial and technological exhibition and forum last July in Yekaterinburg as part of the INNOPROM exhibition. For the Russian side, such an event will be the first of its kind abroad. Moreover, the Russian Federation will become not only its organizer, but also a partner country. More than 100 international companies are planning to participate in the exhibition, and this year the focus will be on North and Central Africa, as well as the Middle East.

“Big Industrial Week” will become a significant international event and one of the main exhibitions in the field of industry and engineering organized by the Russian Federation, said Amr Taha, Executive Director of the Egyptian Center for Industrial Modernization, who participated in the presentation. “For our part, we are ready to provide all kinds of support and assistance in carrying out this exposition."

"This is not only an important milestone in the development of relations between Egypt and Russia in the field of industry and technology, but also Egypt and the world, since Formica has established contacts with a large number of international companies intending to come to the exhibition," said the Assistant Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmed Taha.

Venue selection and participants

As the program director of the exhibition, which will be held at the new International Exhibition Center in Cairo, told the TASS correspondent, the vice-president of Formika Anton Atrashkin, about half of the exhibitors are expected to be from Russia. "More than 100 companies will take part in it, but at the same time, approximately half of the core will be exhibitors from the Russian Federation," he said.

"If we talk about other regions of the world, we also expect that companies from Germany, France, South Korea and Japan will take part in the exhibition and business program. In particular, energy and transport engineering, nuclear energy and agricultural technologies will be represented among the main sectors and digital production technology, industrial IT. The final list of our companies will be announced approximately in June. By the way, the state corporation Rosatom will be represented at the highest level", added Anton Atrashkin.

Speaking about the choice of Egypt as a venue for the exhibition, the agency interlocutor recalled that this is the most densely populated Arab country, ranked fourth in the world in terms of economic growth.

“We perfectly understood this and, choosing, were guided by the fact that Egypt is a peculiar attraction point of many Arab states and African countries,” Anton Atrashkin stressed. “Therefore, we are waiting for the exhibition and Arab delegations, primarily from the United Arab Emirates, Jordan as well as Algeria and Tunisia.
