The Forum held by Rosatom State Corporation and Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) at the venue of “Big Industrial Week” International Industrial and Technology Exhibition and Forum is expected to be attended by the management of NPPA, Egyptian Ministry of Electric Energy and Renewable Energy, Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation (ASE) - the general designer and general contractor for construction of the country’s first nuclear power plant - as well as a number of foreign companies - potential suppliers and contractors of El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant construction project.

Approximately 500 nuclear industry suppliers will participate in the event.

Event participants will be able to receive information on the existing and expected tenders on the project of the Egypt’s first nuclear power plant, El Dabaa, get acquainted with Rosatom’s purchasing system, hold individual business meetings with representatives of Russian atomic energy companies involved in project implementation and get answers to questions concerning participation in the power plant construction.


El Dabaa nuclear power plant - background information:
El Dabaa nuclear power plant (Egypt) including four VVER-type (pressurized water reactor) reactor blocks of the 3+ generation is being built according to a package of contracts that entered into force on December 11, 2017. The project includes building four power units 1.2 GW capacity each. The Russian side is not only building the station but also supplying Russian nuclear fuel for the whole life cycle of the nuclear power plant, and also providing assistance to its Egyptian partners in training personnel and supporting the station’s operation and maintenance for the first 10 years of its operation. Under another agreement, the Russian side is going to build a special storage facility and supply containers for storing spent fuel.

The first forum for nuclear industry suppliers organized by Rosatom State Corporation and Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) took place on November 25 - 26, 2018 in Cairo. The forum was attended by over 400 representatives of Egyptian companies involved in construction, machine-building, engineering and equipment supplies, as well as representatives of Egypt’s leading mass media.
